The iconic Currie mobile showroom is back on the road again, picking up the second leg of its cross-country tour after a successful two day stint in sunny downtown Albury. The Currie team hitches a trailer to take the very latest in digital printing and finishing technology to country printers across the land, stopping off in Bendigo and Adelaide before long-hauling it across the Nullarbor to Perth.

Local printers have flocked to the famous Currie truck to check out live demos of the latest technology innovations and trends. This year the road trip has a couple of new hot ticket items on show, including a Horizon BQ-280PUR and a Foliant Laminator-Mercury 400SF, which are generating lots of interest. Currie Group managing director, Bernie Robinson, is out on the road with the team, making sure the tour goes that extra mile.

"Yesterday was a beautiful day in Albury. It was one of the best days we've seen on the truck in many years. People are always excited when you roll up in the big semi-trailer. We had about 20 people come by and walking through. Very good, very positive," said Robinson.

The tour is packing a hand-picked selection of equipment, and come Thursday printers in Bendigo can look forward to getting their hands on an HP Indigo 3550, a Horizon CRF-362 creaser/folder, a Horizon folder AFC-564A, the Horizon perfect binder BQ-280PUR, Foliant Laminator-Mercury 400SF and a Horizon finishing line SPF-200L, FC-200L and VAC-1000A.

Once it hits the Nullarbor, though, the truck will be carrying a few extra goodies, including  a CRON thermal CTP and a Nagano CT620 business card cutter.

Robinson says, "Every roadshow's a little different, we're just getting out there to show people in the industry the latest technology first-hand."

The Currie Roadshow will be at:

  • Bendigo Racecourse, Heinz Street, Ascot on March 20 and 21
  • West Adelaide Football Club, 57 Milner Road, Richmond, SA on April 1 and 2.
  • And after a dusty trek across the Nullarbor, the truck will pull into Perth at the Currie Group Office, 13 Sangiorgio Court, Osborne Park with doors open for April 29, 30 and May 1.
