Kodak GCG touches down in new Melbourne headquarters
According to Ross Gilberthorpe, marketing manager for graphic solutions across Australia and NZ, the move to the new 7,400 m2 modern open-plan floor space is part of Kodak’s international transition from analogue to digital.
“This move represents Kodak’s widely publicised international digital growth strategy and Australia is the first country in the world in housing all of the business units under the one roof,” says Gilberthorpe. The Sydney branch made the move to one location last month, scoring a world first.
Located in the suburb of Collingwood on the eastern edge of the city’s CBD, the company says it will allow for a more streamlined approach to the company’s operations. The building will house a total of around 300 staff, and also take in other business units including Digital & Film Imaging, Entertainment Imaging and the Health Group.
One of the unique features of the new premises is the Kodak Technology Gallery, built for exhibiting colour proofing solutions, graphic-arts products, prepress workflows, computer-to-plate output devices and colour and B&W production presses. Gilberthorpe says the facilities in the building will also prove useful as training facilities for customers.
“The Kodak Technology Gallery was specifically created to reflect GCG’s broad range of products and services from input to output,” says Gilberthorpe. “We will exhibit a portfolio of ‘best of breed’ products that will support the growing and dynamic digital marketplace.”
