Kodak powers up its NexPress range

The new 2100 is an enhanced version of the existing model, redesigned to offer a more modular and flexible platform. The ‘plus’ press also boasts a number of other new features, including improved feeder and delivery options with links to inline finishing, as well as support for a wider range of paper sizes and stocks.

The NexPress 2500 is a new addition to the range, featuring all the enhancements of the improvement 2100 model plus an 18 per cent boost in productivity, bringing the print speed up to 2500 A3 4/0 sheets per hour. The 2500 is targeted for high-volume print providers, transaction printers and large in-plant businesses, and is also available with dual high-capacity delivery systems.

Peter Foley, VP of digital printing for the GCG in the greater Asia region, claims the redesigned press will be available in Australia in the new year. “The refitted 2100 will have a range of new features which will be of a lot of interest to customers in Australia and New Zealand,” he says.

Venkat Purushotham, general manager for digital printing in the GCG, claims the new presses will allow print providers to take on new challenges. “Customers around the world will benefit from these extremely productive solutions for high-volume colour print production that they can customize to best meet their changing business needs — and that opens up an array of high-value print applications.”

Shortly after the release of the new presses, all the features and functionality of the 2500 press can be purchased as upgrade options to the new 2100 plus, including the faster speeds. This negates the need for NexPress customers to trade-in to trade-up.
