Kodak reaffirms graphic arts presence
In a push to reaffirm its market influence following a dramatic restructure at the beginning of the year, Kodak will unveil a number of new technologies and partnerships to the graphic arts industry in March, giving itself a two-month jump on drupa to showcase its new offerings.
The company announced this week it would hold an press event on 6 March in Lisbon to preview what visitors can expect see at its stand at drupa. While the company has not made any specific product details known as yet, those at the press event will be treated to a sneak peek of some of its new technology, solutions and partnerships slated for release by drupa in May.
Kodak’s vice president of commercial marketing, Chris Payne (pictured), says that the press event in March and drupa in May are the company’s core focal points this year to help re-establish its graphic arts credentials.

“Kodak’s commitment to the graphic communications market and the success of our customers is the main focus for our press conference in March and drupa in May,” says Payne. “Visitors to drupa will learn about the latest ways we’re leading dynamic change in the markets we serve – including publishing, packaging and commercial print – with the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio of products, solutions and services for printers in offset, digital and hybrid environments.”
Given Kodak’s continuing restructuring efforts and January’s voluntary bankruptcy of its US operations, it is no surprise the company is angling to leverage its profile within the graphic arts and printing industry, a sector that is central to its long-term success.
Payne says he wants his company to continue to be viewed as a market leader in the industry, and its presence at drupa will encourage that sentiment among printers globally.
“Our customers look to Kodak as a leader in products, solutions and services,” he says, “and we will celebrate our customers in innovative ways at drupa. Make no mistake about it, Kodak is here today and will be here tomorrow, continuing to help our customers grow their businesses.”
