Kodak wins 3DAP V2 certification for Matchprint
The new Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Solution using Kodak Media and Epson 4800 and 9800 wide format proofers, joins 13 other approved solutions from six suppliers that have passed the test. 3DAP (Digital Data Delivery for Australian Publications) is an industry body endorsed by the Magazine Publishers Association.
Jarrod White, national proofing sales manager, Kodak GCG, says: “The certification assures advertisers, prepress suppliers, magazine publishers and printers of the system’s ability to deliver a ‘match’ to current heatset web offset print conditions in the Australian market.”
In addition to the 3DAP recognition and SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) certification achieved late last year, Matchprint inkjet proofers also have a unique option in the new certified process for colour confirmation. This checks that the proof was generated according to in-house or industry colour standards, helping press operators and print buyers communicate and confirm colour expectations before going to press. It also confirms that the correct profile was used and that the proofer was correctly calibrated, providing assurance well beyond checking the colour bar alone. If all checks are met, a proof-specific certification label with the Certified Process stamp is printed and applied to the proof for visible confirmation of correct colour.
Matchprint Inkjet combines two well-known proofing systems, the Integris and Matchprint ProofPro (which it replaces). It uses the same interface as the popular Veris proofer and is compatible with both Integris and Matchprint media. The Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Solution includes a full line of inkjet proofing media for colour, content, imposition and two-sided proofing. A Kodak-designed double-sided media guide is available for improved two-sided printing.
“Graphic designers will find the Matchprint inkjet desktop proofer optimal for achieving more predictable colour earlier in the production process, while creative agencies will enjoy the Kodak colour performance as much as its small footprint,” said White.
“Brand owners, agencies, publishers and commercial printers seeking inkjet proofing solutions that provide ease of use, integrate with their existing creative applications, and deliver consistent and accurate colour matching, are sure to be impressed with the fast and accurate printer calibration that ensures consistency from proof to proof and proofer to proofer.”
