Konica Minolta lives up to its environmental ambitions, saving over 600 tons of waste from landfill as its ongoing print cartridge recycling efforts hit a major milestone.

One million cartridges have been recycled through Konica Minolta’s partnership with Cartridges 4 Planet Ark and Close the Loop, who also recycle all Konica Minolta toner bottles and other consumables and use the ‘e-waste’ to create innovative, green products like ‘eWood’ park benches and raised garden beds.

Dr David Cooke, managing director, Konica Minolta Australia, said, “Konica Minolta works hard to be a sustainable company be measuring, minimising and managing our carbon emissions. Diverting landfill and reducing greenhouse emissions from used toner cartridges is just one of the ways our organisation is making a positive and meaningful contribution to the environment and our community.”

Konica Minolta has been acknowledged on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for five consecutive years, supports a global eco vision to reduce CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050. According to Konica Minolta, its business machines are among the most environmentally efficient available, they use less toner, produce less greenhouse gas emissions, and 92% of all machines are also recycled at the end of their lifetime, via e-Sims recycling.

Dr Cooke promotes its partnerships with Cartridges 4 Planet Ark and Close the Loop as vitally important to the digital printing giant’s ongoing commitment to employ innovative means to divert business waste.

Konica Minolta is also an official sponsor of Landcare Australia and works with community, government and business projects to protect and repair Australia’s natural resources.
