Konica Minolta House moves into the print neighbourhood

Konica Minolta grows out of current office and into new North Ryde headquarters.

From 1 September, the supplier will be based in a new building, to be named Konica Minolta House. Still staying in the New South Wales print mecca of North Ryde, Sydney, the four-and-a-half thousand-metre building increase a 550-metre showroom that allows the company to demonstrate up to 14 presses at any one time, including the not-yet-released bizhubPRO 1200.

David Procter, national manager, said that the move was a result of the company’s growth. “We have grown as a company and the current building cannot meet our increased numbers and requirements, both in terms of office space and showroom capabilities,” he said.

Konica Minolta, which had arguably one of the most vibrant stands and overall company presence at PacPrint, rated the tradeshow a success. “It [PacPrint] was excellent,” said Procter. “We were very happy with the result; it exceeded our expectations. We invested a lot into the show and we got one of the best returns from it. We’ve had a strong 2009 with a record result in April, May June and looks like July too. PacPrint and the investment allowance drove a lot of business for us.”

Procter added that Konica Minolta are still in discussions with potential speakers to officially open the Konica Minolta House. He revealed that, unlike at PacPrint, it would likely be a politician rather than a rock band.
