Sydney-based Konica Minolta Australia has launched a new Industrial Print business unit aimed at commercial production printing.

“Konica Minolta is aligning itself with the future of the industrial print market,” said David Cascarino, strategic account manager, Konica Minolta.  “Konica Minolta realises the need to approach the market differently, and we want to help our customers do the same. This dedicated resource will help us bring new value to the existing product suite as well as develop new technologies that align with industry needs, such as the use of inkjet in industrial print applications.

“This new business unit will help our customers leverage their existing print capabilities and augment them with additional industrial print technology to realise greater value from their output.”

The new business unit is a dedicated industrial print resource focused on the applications of industrial printing products for the end customer, according to a press release. It will provide customers with value-added offerings to capitalise on existing printing products. This includes new finishing equipment, new processes, and new product capabilities.

The Industrial Print business unit is built around Konica Minolta Australia’s industrial print solutions suite.

Konica Minolta’s industrial print products lead the way in innovation and design, providing value-added solutions to increase customers’ product potential for end clients. These solutions are not only hardware-based, they also include software and applications that combine to offer superior results from existing printing practices, offering customers a competitive edge.

These product solutions include technology such as Konica Minolta Australia’s TEC UV Coater, with its gloss coating capabilities, and the MGI JETvarnish 3DS, which can convert regular printed output into high-margin spot UV-printed sheets, or higher-margin 3D-embossed jobs with up to 100 microns of varnish, lifting the image from the page.

“With the extra capabilities offered by Konica Minolta’s industrial print suite, and the dedicated focus by our new business unit on using the suite to add value to production printing output, our customers can look forward to broadening their product offering and increasing their margins for greater profits,” said Anthony Lewis, GM, Production Print, Konica Minolta. “This new capability will also let businesses capitalise on new markets and expand their client base.”
