Kopystop gets off to flying start with 700 Digital Color Press

Family business, Kopystop, becomes one of the first printers in Australia to install a new Fuji Xerox 700 Digital Color Press.

The Sydney-based store, which began as a photocopying business in 1984, has always had a strong Fuji Xerox presence and is currently served by a 41 10, 41 27 and DocuColor 52 52.

The addition of the newly released 700 Digital Color Press came after managing director, Art Tchetchenian heard the machine’s praises being sung around the world.

“Since its drupa launch, the 700 was getting rave reviews,” he said. “It offers a real offset look, as opposed to a ‘digital colour look’ and opens us up to new markets.”

Some of Kopystop’s customers have been requesting work that looks like offset at small-run prices, and Tchetchenian is pleased to be able to offer this to them with the 700, which was installed in December 2008.

“One of the beauties of the 700 is that it isn’t a pure print production engine and has a smaller footprint for us,” he said. “It has inline finishing capabilities and we can use it as either a monochrome or colour printer.”

Weeks after the installation, Tchetchenian is impressed with the work the machine has produced. “Everything went smoothly and the 700 is doing everything that was promised to us,” he said.

According to Henryk Kraszewski, (pictured) production marketing manager, Fuji Xerox has not been able to keep up with the demand for the 700, due to its popularity.

“I believe that it is the fastest-selling colour press of all time,” he said.

To date, there have been 25 installations of the 700 in every state across Australia except for Tasmania. Kraszewski added that the majority of the installations have taken place in NSW.
