KPG enters digital printing market with NexPress and Digimaster

Under the agreement KPG will sell both the high-end colour digital NexPress as well as the black & white Digimaster series. According to Andre Boers, manager Asia Pacific KPG, it is still too early to tell how the two companies will operate in Australia and New Zealand, but he confirmed discussions are taking place. NexPress is about to open a showroom of its own in Melbourne’s Docklands next month.

Kodak acquired the NexPress and Digimaster products from Heidelberg earlier this year, as the press manufacturer exited digital printing. Currently there are five NexPress units in operation in Australia – three in Melbourne, two in Sydney – and around a dozen Digimasters.

"KPG is committed to providing our customers with the best digital opportunities, including CtP, DI and digital printing," said Jeff Jacobson, Chief Executive Officer, KPG. "The NexPress and Digimaster presses give our customers access to a broader portfolio of solutions as they transition to and expand their digital workflows."

"KPG has great reach and presence in the graphic arts industry worldwide, making them an excellent reseller for the solutions," said Venkat Purushotham, President and CEO, NexPress Solutions, Inc.

Under the agreement, NexPress will continue to provide service for all installations of NexPress 2100 systems.
