Last call for entries: NPA and Pride In Print
Deadline looms for entries in the two biggest competitions in the transtasman, the National Print Awards and Pride In Print Awards.
National Print Awards
Cut off for entries in this year's NPA is 1 February, a date which chairman, Scott Telfer, said was absolutely final. "We encourage anyone with work they believe demonstrates excellence in print to take the opportunity to have their work assessed alongside the very best of Australian printing," he said.
To be eligible, work must have been produced between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2007. Telfer warned that entrants should take particular care when preparing their entries.
"Check each entry carefully for individual faults as we often have instances where a single fault ... eliminates an otherwise excellent entry from consideration," he said.
Winners will be announced at the 25th National Print Awards Presentation Dinner on Wednesday 16 April 2008 in Melbourne. Already, Telfer said that the night is shaping up to be a highlight, and is likely to attract a record number of entries.

Pride In Print
Entries for New Zealand's premier awards, Pride In Print, close on 31 January, but those in need of more time have the option of submitting up to 29 February at an additional cost.
Entries received up to 31 January 2008 are $60.00 per entry. A late entry fee of $80.00 will be charged per entry for entries received after 1 February 2008. Late entries close on 29 February 2008. Entries will not be accepted after this date.
There is no limit to the number of entries submitted; however entries must have been printed in New Zealand between 1 January and 31 December 2007 and can be from any printing process.
Judging is based on the technical facets of the production process and allows for specialists to make a judgement based on the potential and the limits of that process and materials. Elements of typography and good design must be part of this judgement, along with effective and innovative use of materials.
