Last call for tickets to NSW Print Excellence Awards
Printers in NSW have until only the end of this week to book their tickets for the State’s biggest print event this year – the WorkCover NSW Print Excellence Awards 2009.
Bookings close on Friday 6 November for the awards dinner which will be staged on Friday 13 November at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont.
Printing Industries CEO Philip Andersen said the event was a celebration of industry achievement and sustainability across several spheres.
“The theme for 2009 is Sustain, Grow, Profit – a very fitting theme in the current global environment and one that seems to have been unpinning the attitude of many of our members as they come to terms with the impacts of the Global Financial Crisis and the opportunities created with the increased emphasis on environmental and business sustainability,” he said.
“We have had an excellent response from industry submitting their best work for judging in the hope of winning a Gold award and going on to compete in the National Print Awards next March in Sydney.
“For those that have entered our print and business categories this is the opportunity for recognition of their efforts and for those that haven’t it’s a great opportunity to see and learn from what others have done and been recognised for.”
Andersen said that while 2009 had been a very difficult year for the industry, events such as the printing industry awards provided an opportunity to put that aside for a few hours to enjoy some positive camaraderie.
“We have organised a very entertaining night with strong theming and an excellent MC in Paul McDermott who is looking forward to bringing his particular brand of humour from Channel 10’s Good News Week to our good news night.
“We also have one of the fastest painters you are likely to see presenting a very funny and interactive show.
“Of course there are the award presentations and some very special awards for Printing Industries members, six of whom will be celebrating 350 years of membership between them. It will be a night of nights,” he said.
The dinner begins at 6.30pm and bookings can be made by contacting Honorine at Printing Industries on (02) 8789 7382 e-mail: honorine@printnet.com.au or by downloading the booking form here
