Following the surprise withdrawal of Kellie Northwood from the election to the Board of Printing Industries, the race is on for a candidate to stand for Victoria.

With only hours to go before nominations close, Kieran May, president, has issued a call for suitably qualified members to step forward. With no possibility of an extension for nominations because of the Australian Electoral Commission rules, the peak body is in danger of having no Victorian representative.

May will email a nomination form to anyone that wants to nominate but he or she must do it before 4.00pm.

There is no immediate explanation* for Northwood's last minute withdrawal but with her full schedule representing Two Sides as well as running the Australian Catalogue Association, it's a very understandable call.

It does leave the Board in a pickle. May was keen to ensure that this election turn a new page in governance of the Association, hence the involvement of the AEC.

Anyone interested in standing should contact him on km@accrossbusiness.com.au or phone 0419 976 705.

* shortly after posting this article we received the following statement from Kellie Northwood.

"It is with some regret that I am stepping down from the PIAA Board position, however based on several commitments I didn't feel I could provide the commitment required. I wish the Board all the very best in the year ahead and thank those who have supported me, ACA and TSA over the past period, I've met a lot of wonderful people and enjoyed learning more about our passionate and dedicated industry," Kellie Northwood, CEO, ACA.
