LATMA lends a hand to bushfire victims

Bushfires have savaged Victoria, and struck out at many LATMA members.

In response to the escalating situation, Victorian president, Peter Petran, has started a fund and is calling on all LATMA members and those in the printing industry to donate.

“I lived in Narbethong and attended school in Marysville and Alexandra,” he said. “Now, all of this is gone in one afternoon of horror.”

Petran reported that some houses that have been destroyed in the bushfires were those of label company employees and suppliers. Andrew Grant of K&G Labels in Whittlesea was lucky enough to escape the fires, but many of his family and staff were affected.

After discussion with Grant, Petran decided that LATMA should begin a fund to help. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
“We ask all label and tag manufacturers and our friends across the water in New Zealand to show the people who were affected that we care,” Petran said.

There are two ways to donate. You can either post a cheque to: Anita Kelly LATMA PO Box 2159 Hamptn East Vic 3188 or email credit card details (including card type, card number, name on card and expiry date) to anita@latma.com.au
