Let the fun begin: PrintEx 07 kicks off with a bang

Expected to draw a massive crowd throughout the three days, PrintEx brings together industry experts and interested punters alike from both across Australia and overseas. The previous PrintEx, held in 2003 drew a crowd of over 10,000 trade visitors; it is expected that this year's event will bring in even more people.

Grant Churchill, PrintEx chairman spoke positively of what lay ahead. "The depth and range of equipment and software solutions being demonstrated by the largest number of exhibitors brought together ensures PrintEx 07 will be the biggest and best graphic communications industry exhibition ever in Sydney," he said.

Many big names from outside the printing industry such as author/journalist Peter FitzSimons, SBS host Jennie Brockie and Fairfax online editor Mike van Niekerk will be in attendance, speaking at the PrintEx forums. Speakers of the calibre of Gordon Towell, ceo of GEON and Allan Robinson, General Manager, Letters, Australia Post, will lead the discussion of the what trends are making the most impact on the industry.

Also coinciding with PrintEx is the National Print Awards held on Friday night at the Convention Centre. The annual awards dinner is set to maintain its place as the industry's premiere wassail and networking talkathon. Be there or be elsewhere.

PrintEx 07 runs from 24-26 May and is open until 9.00pm tonight (Thursday) and 4.00pm Saturday.
