Readers have their say over Chippendale Printing, while new president of PrintNZ, John Boyle, earns praise for his vision.
Re: No future for “failed” Chippendale
The late Ed Gardiner built a blue chip printing business that virtually had few peers and almost no rivals.
It is sad to see the companies demise. People should remember Chippendale Printing for what is was and not what it should have been.

Is the equity partner, Helmsman, not responsible morally to pay the creditors as it was willing to take the winnings if there would have been any? Don’t their still own the land? The problem with equity partners in print, say no more! Wrong wrong wrong!

About time someone in the printing industry made a stand for the medium and smaller print businesses as the equity companies grind down the bigger clients with tenders, and this is something that needs to be fought tooth and nail by PrintNZ as government departments are pushing towards the one supplier model cutting out print plants that are deemed to small and which are the backbone of PrintNZ.

Re: The winds of change: 9 June 2010
I’d like to give due acknowledgement to Rob Edwards and his performance as CEO of ADMA.
I’ve known and worked with Rob for about 10 years and have admired his management skills and political prowess. ADMA does a great job supporting the direct marketing industry but I fear they will be hard-pressed to find an equal to continue the work that he has initiated and maintained for so many years.
Well done Rob: your five-year job lasted a damned sight longer than you anticipated. Good luck with your future enterprises.
