What readers had to say about last week's news.
Dear Editor,
Re: Industry talks back to Rob Eastment's call to pulp organisations
I believe there is a case for creating a combined voice from the print industry. What I disagree with is that one association can handle the diversity of interests currently serviced by the various associations.
My suggestion would be a Council of Associations that could bring together the views and interests of the various stakeholders where representatives of all the associations would have an equal say and then a representative body could present a co-ordinated view to government.
Unfortunately getting the involvement of all parties around a table is difficult if not impossible and having been present at some of the attempts I think we all have a long way to go before a united voice will be heard.
