The Lithographic Institute Association (LIA) Queensland has called for committee nominations ahead of its annual general meeting to be held later this month.
“All current positions become vacant 30th March 2017 and we will be holding committee member elections during the AGM," says Gavin Gyles, president LIA Qld. "Current committee members and all financial members may nominate. “
The LIA Queensland AGM will be held at the Chermside Bowls Club, 468 Rode Rd. on Thursday 30th of March 2017 at 6:30pm.
The association also launched a membership drive in the lead-up to the meeting. “The LIA encourages membership from all levels of industry and experience - from students and apprentices, to business owners and managers,” says Gyles. “LIA members are a diverse group, comprising like-minded individuals and businesses involved in design, advertising, multimedia, pre-press, and all forms of printing.
“Since its inception over 50 years ago, the Lithographic Institute of Australia has proven itself as the leading technical body in the graphic arts industry, involved in all aspects and formats of print production. It is through our members that LIA makes a continual contribution to our industry and its future, and an integral part of the LIA mission is the promotion of new talent through the annual LIA Graduate of the Year Awards for trainees and apprentices."
The LIA hosts regular industry and social events, including plant visits, technical nights and golf days. The association recently visited Platypus Graphics' new printing facility at Geebung.
