With just a couple of weeks to go before the doors of Ipex 2014 open; Print21 can confirm that it will host a grand ANZ event during the show. It’s not a country BBQ this time because the distances needed to travel out of London to hold one are much greater than from the former Ipex home near Birmingham.
Instead, we have booked the Fox Connaught pub right next door to the ExCeL centre where Ipex will be. It’s a delightful pub (see picture) with super friendly staff and event managers, where we will have our own private area from 6pm onwards in the evening of Thursday 27th March. As usual there will be entertainment, merriment and good times.
PaperlinX is onboard as Gold Sponsor, with Screen, Konica Minolta and Print21 also helping to sponsor the event.
Ipex organizers tell us there are loads of Australian and New Zealand delegates pre-registered but internet flight bookings has meant we can’t address them as a group, so we’re calling on you bold voyagers making the trek to contact us for tickets in advance. Cost is AUD$90 if paid in Australian dollars or 50 pounds sterling if paid ‘over there.’ What’s included? The Connaught’s Hot Fork Buffet (designed to ‘never run out’ they say) and all standard drinks up to six per head.
Ipex exhibition director Trevor Crawford will be there: “I wouldn’t miss the Aussie-Kiwi party at Ipex for the world,” he says.
Print21 writer Andy McCourt, who has organized an ANZ BBQ at every Ipex since 1993, will be there along with our Publisher Patrick Howard.
McCourt says: “It’s a bit different this time and London costs are a bit more, but it will be equally enjoyable and also a chance to bring international guests along for a laid-back Aussie experience.”
