Longbottom Digital Paper charity swatch initiative
In an industry first, printers, designers and specifiers will be asked to make a humanitarian contribution of half of the $50 charge for every Longbottom Digital swatch they receive. The initiative comes as the niche paper supplier prepares a new series of swatches focusing on its areas of expertise.
“We’ve been putting out swatches for years and they’re not cheap to produce. I reckon there’s a couple of hundred dollars worth in every one of them. So we thought it would be a good opportunity to raise some money for charity as well as encourage people to appreciate the value of the swatch,” said Colin Longbottom, proprietor.
Longbottom Papers is recognised as the supplier of a wide range of papers suitable for digital printing. The new series of media guides will comprise swatches that cover the range of substrates suitable for toner, solvent, HP Indigo. Together they represent the widest selection of papers specially selected for their suitability for digital imaging.
The first of the new swatches – wide format inkjet media guide – is currently available. Many of the papers available come from the highly regarded Neusiedler mill in Austria.
“When we made the decision to concentrate on the digital papers market it was to provide a wide range of suitable substrates suitable for designers and printers. Our motto is, ‘a choice of solutions, not limitations,” said Longbottom.
