Major Mail Users turn new paperless page
Following discussions at the Mail House Decision Day in late August, the group decided that there were other forms of communication available to them.
“Major Mail Users Australia has always focussed on paper mail,” explained John Gillroy, CEO. “But that is only one of a growing number of options and it is time to change the focus from paper mail to communications.”
As businesses face mounting pressure to adapt sustainable practices, many members want to move their paper communications into one of more of the electronic alternatives available, Gillroy added.
One example included encouraging people to use e-statements rather than paper statements.
“Our mailing house members have long offered e-alternatives to paper mail services so it makes sense to change Major Mail Users’ focus,” Gillroy said.
He remains angered at Australia Post’s decision to increase the price of mail. “Over the last two years, Australia Post has blocked every attempt to improve bulk mail.”
Changes to Major Mail Users will be discussed and decided further at the group’s Extraordinary General Meeting held later this year.
