Members have their say on new look PrintNZ

Printers' push into new areas prompts strategic review from PrintNZ.

Last week, the organisation sent out a discussion paper to its members seeking feedback on its future strategic direction. CEO, Joan Grace, (pictured), told Print21 that the review is part of the association’s commitment to providing and developing services for the changing shape of the industry.

“Our members are starting to diversify into new areas by offering online media and multi-channel communications alongside print,” she said. “As the industry association, we also need to examine our business model and review our member services, what value they provide and new areas we should consider to keep our services relevant.”

Part of this includes extensive consultation with members and a series of nation-wide seminars – the first of which took place this week in Auckland and runs through until March. From there, Grace said that the PrintNZ Board will consider key recommendations and make decisions around strategies going forwards.

The five main areas which the board is seeking input to are member services; Print: Part of Life campaign; PrintNZ Industry Report; industry events and membership fees. A new strategy will then be adopted at the AGM in May.
