Meredith Darke rejoins the graphic arts fold
Darke (pictured below) comes to DIC with more than 13 years experience in the supply side graphic arts industry, and holds a post-graduate degree in business and management. She left the industry last year as marketing manager for IPP Print & Pack, part of a global downsizing in marketing activity by parent company Ferrostaal in Germany. At the time she was president of merchant’s association, GAMAA.
“I am really looking forward to the challenge of this exciting role. My vision is to enhance DIC’s reputation in the market, and to further develop on DIC’s good relations, market credibility and integrity,” says Darke. Her experience with IPP Print 7 Pack make her ideally suited to liase with the large web printers, many of whom installed MAN Roland presses during Darke’s tenure with IPP Print& Pack.
David Rands, managing director at DIC Graphics Australia, (another former GAMAA president) says it is an exciting time for the company.
“During 2004 and 2005, we have seen strong growth for DIC in the Australian, New Zealand and Asian markets, and our challenge is to continue building quality business operations that service our customers.”
Ian Johns, web director at DIC Graphics Australia, says the company is delighted to have Darke join the team.
“Our aim at DIC is to ensure continual improvement in planning, strategy and execution – and Meredith brings the right combination of skills to DIC and to marketing the leading brand of Coates web inks.”
“As a market leader in Australia and New Zealand with premium quality products, we look to continually develop our business to enable us to respond quickly to market demands,” says Johns.
The operations of DIC in Australia and New Zealand have an annual sales turnover in excess of $150m, and the organisation employs in excess of 200 people.
