This week’s M&A activity is headed by PMA Solutions complete acquisition of Trio’s ANZ operations and Muller Martini signs global supply agreement with Rima-System. Schlenk Metallic Pigments has teamed up with Color-Logic and InnerWorkings signs multi-million print management deal with MoneyGram International.
PMA Solutions acquires Trio’s New Zealand operations
Australian and New Zealand operations of Auckland based independent print manager, Trio Group have now been taken under the wing of MPA Solutions.
Philip Okill, founder and managing director of PMA Solutions says the similarities between the two companies are considerable. “Both are independent print managers with a focus on client requirements and service, rather than production, with independence allowing unbiased supplier selection and the best market rates to be sourced and shared with our clients – now in both countries across the Tasman.”
This merger follows on from PMA’s acquisition of Trio's Australian operations early this year.
Don Brodie, founder of Trio Group will continue on as managing director of the expanded New Zealand operations, and all existing staff will retain their current roles.
Global partnership formed by Muller Martini and Rima-System
Muller Martini and Rima-System announce cooperative agreement to offer customized solutions to customers worldwide.
According to the cooperation agreement, Muller Martini will represent RIMA-SYSTEMS products through its overseas sales channels from 1 January 2012.
Bruno Müller, CEO of Muller Martini says customers will now be able to choose “their ideal and individual solution from the extensive product line offered by the two market leaders. This means users can benefit from the most efficient solution in each case – e.g. a Newsveyor conveyor system from Muller Martini paired with a compensating stacker and palletizing robot from Rima-System.”
Coordinated product lines include areas of conveying, cutting, stack production, bundle production and roll production.
Schlenk Metallic Pigments teams up with Color-Logic
Schlenk Metallic Pigments has been named a technology partner by Color-Logic to deliver new co-developed metallic silver UV flexographic ink suitable for Color-Logic’s Process Metallic Color System.
Mark Geeves, director of sales and marketing at Color-Logic says the new proprietary UV flexographic ink sold under the Color-Logic label “ensures flexographic printers that their presses will produce the superb metallic special effects for which Color-Logic has become known.”
Multi-million print management deal for InnerWorkings
InnerWorkings signs multi-million deal with MoneyGram International to provide global print management services for promotional point-of-sale materials including direct mail, point-of-purchase, commercial print, and signage manufacturing and management.
Eric Belcher, CEO of InnerWorkings says over the last 12 months its global platform has expanded “as we increasingly service client needs on an international scale."
The service agreement encompasses all of MoneyGram operations across 25 offices, 233,000 agent locations and six continents.
Juan Agualimpia, executive VP for MoneyGram International says internal changes are being made to make it more globally efficient. “This includes streamlining how we manage our print and signage resources."

APS Group to work with Scottish Parliament
The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB) agrees to
participate in the fully managed services Design, Print, Publishing and Associated Services (DPPAS) contract currently managed by APS Group.
Under the terms of the contract, APS will now provide on- and off-site print management and production to SPCB, with nightly turnaround times. This means that, for the first time, APS in Scotland will be providing 24 hour production and studio services, five days a week.
