Mergers, acquisitions and alliances from around the world: 19 July 2011
This week’s M&A activity is headed by the first products from the Kyocera Mita and EFI partnership, plus the continued battle between Temple-Inland and International Paper.
Kyocera Mita and EFI launch first products from strategic worldwide partnership
EFI Australia has confirmed it will be an active participant in the partnership, which will see optional Fiery Printing System 11/12 software included on Kyocera Mita TASKalfa MFPs.
Anthony Parnemann, manager of SE Asia for EFI says the partnership will expand the reach of Fiery in Australia and New Zealand and introduce new users “to the high quality printing and colour accuracy of Fiery.”
George Kharoufeh, senior product manager at Kyocera Mita in Sydney, is anticipating stock to begin arriving in August ready for September deliveries. “EFI Fiery available on Kyocera products is ideal for medium to large sized businesses who demand reliable colour MFDs with optimum colour accuracy.”
Temple-Inland continues to fend off advances from International Paper
Earlier this week International Paper (IP) made a US$3.31 billion hostile takeover bid for Temple-Inland (TIN) to increase its share of the North American market for containerboard used in shipping boxes.
TIN hit back stating that the offer is grossly undervalued, recommending to its stockholders not tender their shares into IP's offer.
Yet with the hostile takeover move IP has shown how dearly it wants to bring TIN into the fold.
