The Mohawk Show honours the graphic design industry and allows printers and designers a chance to catch the eye of peers and potential clients by having their entries reviewed by a panel of jurors and viewers of the travelling exhibit, which this year will also visit Sydney.
Workshops for students and new designers will be held throughout the day from 10am-4pm and feature some of Australia’s leading creatives and printers. Speakers include Kellie Northwood from Two Sides Australia, Emilio Roccioletti from ERD, the Business Design Council’s Greg Branson, and Joe O’Connor from Mohawk Fine Paper.
Prizes will be awarded after 6pm and winners of the 11 categories – annual reports, books, corporate brochures, direct mail, stationery, posters, magazines, integrated communications, calendars, miscellaneous, and innovation in paper – will receive medals. The Best in Show winner will get a four-night trip for two to New York, including visits to the Mohawk Paper Mill and $1000 spending money.
The show opened at 10am at the Young Bloods Diner, 60 Rose Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne. The Sydney Mohawk Show will be held on the 9th September at the Arthouse Hotel, 275 Pitt St. RSVP to mohawk@bjball.com.au.
All work entered into the Mohawk Show is produced on one or more of the Mohawk Papers range.
