Melbourne’s Moonee Ponds Street awarded Franchise of the Year at Kwik Kopy’s annual conference.

Former CEO for Advanced Hair Studio turned Kwik Kopy store owner, Mike Beuermann accepted the award at this month’s conference in the Barossa Valley. “When I first bought Kwik Kopy Moonee Ponds I never expected to be here,” he said. “This is the highlight of my career so far.”

Printing is a long way from hair, but during his six years in the industry, Beuermann has grown the business considerably. He cited a career change as the catalyst for buying the store. “I wanted to work for myself and considered various options,” Beuermann explained. “The diversity of the work of a Kwik Kopy Centre was challenging, interesting and exciting – so I made the leap. I would have been happy to simply get close to what I had been earning previously as a CEO but I have actually doubled my personal income.”

Managing director of Kwik Kopy Australia, David Bell, listed Beuermann’s business acumen as a contributing factor to taking out the award, which is decided on the basis of meeting or exceeding selected key performance indicators, covering production efficiency, profitability, profit growth, sales and sales growth.

“In a few short years, Mike has created one of the most successful and admired businesses in the system,” Bell said. “He has a strong focus on his clients and has developed particularly strong relationships with them. As a result, in five years he has added $1 million to his business.”
