Mutoh inks now Greenguard certified
Wide format systems supplier Mutoh has had its original LED-UV ink, or US11 ink, Greenguard certified. The certification on US11 ink is across the Mutoh ValueJet range including wide format printers and promotional products printers.
For the wide format industry Greenguard is becoming increasingly important as wide format moves into new applications, particularly where there is close human contact such as packaging and textiles.
Russell Cavenagh, general manager at Mutoh Australia, said, “UV printing is moving into areas where there may be close human contact, wall coverings for instance. Greenguard gives manufacturers and consumers confidence that there will be no adverse impact on their health. Anyone who has been to Japan knows they are highly attuned to environmental issues. Mutoh is committed to providing customers safe, environmentally-friendly and high-quality products by following industry standards in our product development process.”
Greenguard validates the inks so designers, manufacturers and buyers can identify materials and interior products with low chemical emissions. The programme ensures that products intended for use indoors meet stringent chemical emissions limits. This not only improves indoor air quality, but also product safety.
The Mutoh US11 ink has been specifically developed for Mutoh’s speciality and industrial UV printers. The US11 ink is capable of printing on a wide range of materials, and is designed to bend and stretch with the materials after curing.
The company says the ink enables layer printing with CMYK + white and varnish colours. Available in cartridges and bulk ink bags, the Mutoh LED-UV ink features high-productivity, ultra-sharp and high quality outputs.
Mutoh printers using US11 include VJ-1638UH, VJ-1638UR, VJ-626UF and VJ-426UF.
