New Australian awards for digital imaging
Entries will be encouraged for seven categories covering such areas of digital fine arts as reproduction, creativity, photo repro and creativity and environment
EPSON has put up its hand to be the major sponsor for an overall digital imaging award . According a press release from the organisers, the company has committed to a major presence at ADAPT, including a Digital Art and Photography Gallery, showcasing the creative achievements of those who have embraced creative digital imaging.
EPSON’s Business Unit Manager for Professional Graphics, Craig Heckenberg, said, “With technology changing rapidly, education is extremely important to ensuring that our customers get the most out of it. We see our involvement with ADAPT as furthering the contribution we make towards the burgeoning digital photography and fine art print markets.
“ADAPT is an important event in ensuring the ongoing development of these markets, by providing professional imaging people with both a forum for learning and an exposition of available technologies. EPSON is delighted to support this important event and assist the digital imaging community in exploring new creative horizons.”
The awards will be presented on the first day of ADAPT, Thursday July 21, 2005 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The awards attest to the growing interest in digital fine art reproduction, not only in among industry professionals but in the broader community as well. Organisers report the show it is almost a sell-out weeks after its announcement.
ADAPT is held from July 21-23 in the Byron Kennedy Hall, next to Fox Studios, Sydney and is in tandem with the Art & Framing Trade Fair in the adjacent Hordern Pavilion.
