Canon Australia has released its new imagePRESS C850/C750/C650 series of digital colour production presses, available now.
Consisting of the imagePRESS C850/C750/C650 digital colour production presses, this new Series incorporates a variety of new features and technology to help meet the requirements of the markets it is designed for: corporate print rooms, commercial printers, in-plant operations, franchise printers and other print service providers.
"We are mainly targeting the in-plant business including corporate and university print rooms, as well as commercial printers and franchises," said Anjana Maikap, Product Marketing Manager at Canon. "We will focus on the print rooms of educational institutions, such as universities, TAFEs, private colleges and schools."
The C850 series supersedes Canon's C800 series, which recently received the hit product award at the Canon Summit Awards 2016. “The imagePRESS C850 Series is built off of the proven technology that helped its predecessor stand heads and shoulders above the offerings of competitors since its release," said Peter Brittliff, Canon Senior Manager Product Marketing. "We expect this new series will exceed the high expectations that have been set."
"We have enhanced the speed, media requirements, and image quality over the C800 series, as well as enhancing the capabilities of our PrismaSync print servers including colour management tools, media catalogue, and colour quality control tools," Maikap said.
The C850 features offset-like image quality through Canon's Gloss Optimisation technology, prints at 85 A4 pages per minute in colour or black and white, and supports a variety of in-line finishing options to help expand the offerings of print service providers, including the ability to stack, fold, saddle-stitch, staple, perfect-bind and ring-bind.
Maikap said the company is very proud that the C850 recently won a 2017 BLI PRO Award for Outstanding Colour Light Production Device. “In addition to this accolade, FedEx Office, a world-class commercial print provider, has enhanced its copier and printer fleets with the rollout of more than 1,800 Canon imagePRESS C700 colour digital presses," she said. "Given the official recognition of this device and the dominance in the USA market with clients like FedEx we are confident that we will gain solid traction in the Australian market at the low to mid volume production level.”
