Following the  death of Robert J. Koehler on May 17, Dr. Siegfried Jaschinski was elected new chairman of the Supervisory Board of Heidelberg Druckmaschinen in Germany. He is taking over as chairman for the remainder of the term of office till the annual general meeting in 2018.

Dr. Jaschinski, 60 (pictured)  has been a member of the Board since April 3, 2007 iand comes form a financial background being a partner of Augur Capital.  “I would like to thank you for the trust shown in me. The Supervisory Board is committed to successfully continuing the realignment of Heidelberg initiated by Robert J. Koehler together with the Management Board and placing Heidelberg on a sustainably profitable footing.”

Koehler (66) was chairman of the Supervisory Board of Heidelberg  since 2011, his tenure encompassing one of the most turbulent periods in the company’s history. Massive downsizing and layoffs followed the decline in demand for the company’s offset presses worldwide.

In a tribute to the late Chairman the company stated: During his time in office, Robert J. Koehler made a substantial contribution to the company. The way he worked combined dedication, passion, conscientiousness, and a straightforward approach. He was a highly respected and exceptionally knowledgeable consultant for the company. With his international experience and his focus on the big picture, Koehler played a key role in Heidelberg’s development. He actively supported the strategic reorientation toward building up the digital printing and services side of the business that Heidelberg aims to continue growing in the future. The company has a great deal to thank him for.

The Supervisory Board, Management Board, and staff at Heidelberg will all remember Robert J. Koehler with the highest esteem.
