New presses announced for IPEX

The B2 Lithrone LS29 is the first of the new machines that will be on display during IPEX, available in both five-colour and ten-colour models, and the Japanese manufacturer will also be unveiling its B1 Lithrone LS40SP Super Perfector, which will be used to produce 10,000 magazines on a daily basis.

Neil Sutton, sales director at Komori, claims the launch of the new presses at Ipex will herald an important new phase for the company, with a strong focus on perfecting, automation, productivity and workflow integration.

“In today's highly competitive market, printers are looking to streamline productivity, increase cost competitiveness, and enter new markets by offering a broader portfolio of innovative services,” says Sutton.

“Consequently, presses need to be multi-featured, flexible and highly automated. Komori manufactures the most innovative and highly automated presses on the market with the lowest cost of ownership and the new presses we unveil at Ipex deliver even higher levels of flexibility and efficiency.”

The Lithrone LS29 Series was developed in response to market demand for an automated multi-colour B2 press in both straight and perfecting configurations. The new range will feature a fully-automatic plate changing system as standard.

Komori will be showing two different LS29 presses on its Ipex stand. There will be a five-colour LS529 with coater, utilising the fifth unit for machine sealing and the aqueous coater for gloss varnish, and a ten-colour LS1029P perfector demonstrating four-over-four work, changing through a variety of stocks with sealing on the fifth and tenth units.

The B1 Lithrone LS40SP is the other new press Komori will be launching at Ipex, an enhanced version of its double-deck Lithrone press, which the company claims is up to three times as productive as a straight single-sided press. The new addition to the lineup is pegged to significantly improve production efficiency and delivers major cost and waste reductions.
