New version of QuickPrint keeps Adstream at the forefront

QuickPrint 5.1 allows users to select a destination within Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress that automatically sets up a document where the user can specify the job details. From here, a PDF is created according to the exact specifications of the destination. QuickPrint 5.1 automatically optimises and displays a preview of the finished file, which is then ready to be saved and exported. A comprehensive validation process is also provided along with reporting of faults and warnings.

The key features of QuickPrint 5.1 include built-in colour management, separation preview, ink weight measurement, auto-updating, a file optimisation button and built-in Adobe distiller, but reductions to time and increased efficiency are two of the benefits that QuickPrint 5.1 will have for users, according to Adstream managing director, Peter Miller. "QuickPrint 5.1 dramatically steps up the production pace of advertising and editorial workflows, requiring less time and fewer mouse clicks to complete the job," he said. "QuickPrint 5.1 is the most powerful and efficient software for layout, validation and delivery to 'spec' ever created and we are very excited about its release."

Users will also be excited, according to Daniel Daly, group sales manager. Though it's still early days and difficult to gauge the public's response, he feels confident that QuickPrint 5.1 will be embraced. "Besides all the existing fantastic features, we know that our advertising customers will love the new features such as exporting directly to PDF from CS3, separation preview, eye dropper and additional overprint checks. Our publishing customers our use QP5 to create their finished pages will adore the PDF splitting and renaming as well as the built-in font outlining feature."
