Ascent Partners has launched a new website - www.printmachinery.com.au - that it says will allow printers to buy and sell machinery at a fair market price.

“Not only will the site provide printers with the opportunity to market and sell equipment from a business sale or acquisition, it will also enable owners to unload their underutilised or surplus plant at a market price,” says Ascent director Richard Rasmussen.

“The site is very transparent and always shows the asking price, and enables vendors to add photos and videos and descriptions. We also think it will help all print business proprietors understand the real market prices of equipment, by comparing listed equipment to their equipment. just as you would if you were selling your car on Car Sales.”

Ascent Partners has been a specialist provider to the Australian printing industry since 2007 and Rasmussen says the launch of the web site completes its one stop shop, which includes business valuations/appraisals, business sales and acquisitions, machinery auctions and sales.

“In an industry that has been consolidating rapidly over the past 10 years, we find that when we sell a business, that the business purchaser rarely wants all the plant and equipment,” Rasmussen says. “They tend to pick the plant they need, and obviously take over the sales – this was the case in the recent sales of Graphitype to Dominion and Oxford to Bright.

“We now have the ability to either auction the equipment via our Auction site www.printmachineryauctions.com.au - three auctions held to date in 2017 - or via this new sales site. We want this site to be the industry benchmark -  the industry’s Car Sales equivalent.”

Well-known industry machinery sales veteran Bill Wall has joined Ascent Partners to run this part of the business and help vendors list, market and sell their plant.
