News Limited brightens up South Australian presses
News Limited upgrades the colour capacity of its manroland printing presses in Adelaide.
The equipment, which were the first manroland News Man presses installed in News Limited Australia during the early 90s heralded the rival of the company's printing presses.
Expected to be operational by March 2010, the presses will provide 96 pages of back-to-back colour as opposed to the current 64 pages along with improving the print quality of The Advertiser and Sunday Mail, the 11 titles which make up Messenger Community Newspapers and locally printed editions of The Australian.
In addition to the increase in colour capacity, Advertiser Newspapers have also purchased magazine production equipment to double the company's newsprint magazine publishing capabilities.
News Limited’s chairman and chief executive, John Hartigan, said that the investment would benefit readers and advertisers.
"It means a significantly improved platform from which to reach this huge, engaged audience," he said. "And for our national advertisers, it means that for the first time we will be providing consistent colour placement across the News Limited metropolitan newspaper network."
