Next stop Queensland for CMYKhub
Clive Denholm continues CMYKhub’s expansion as the hub makes its way to the sunshine state.
The trade-only printer first opened in Victoria by Clive Denholm (pictured) and has since blazed a trail around most of Australia, opening branches in both New South Wales and Western Australia last year.
Denholm has a history of involvement in hub printing. Prior to founding CMYKhub, he started Worldwide Online Printing, a franchise hub and spoke operation based in Perth, which he sold to an investment fund in 2006.
Plans for a Queensland roll out have been on the cards for some time. According to Denholm, the Queensland factory which opens in July, is part of CMYKhub’s growth strategy.
“We have a long-term plan to have manufacturing resources in every state, as a wholesale hub. We have a responsibility to provide consistent quality print for our customer base,” he said.
Denholm admitted that trade printing is not always easy; however, he believes the extra physical presence gives CMYKhub an added advantage.
“Trade printing is a very tough and low margin business; it needs volume to work and you need to drive down costs. We feel that by being local we can strip out a little freight cost and as a bonus speed up delivery times. This expansion will help us generate the economies of scale needed for our model,” he said.
Denholm would not disclose details of either machinery or the factory’s location.
