This was a night to showcase and celebrate the talent and expertise present from the In-house print sector around Australasia. The highlight of the evening was the presentation to Deakin University of the Outstanding Business of the Year Award.

In accepting the award Deakin's manager, Craig Gibbs, was quick to acknowledge the contribution of his own manager and staff in gaining this award. He later paid tribute to his technology partners indicating that these awards are never a one-dimensional effort.

Other key winners were the teams from Wollongong University and Massey University in New Zealand who won the Gold categories in Offset production and Digital production respectively. Wollongong manager, Max Chiodo accepted on their behalf and Rob Roberts accepted on behalf of Massey University. The award for Outstanding Contribution to NIPPA went to John Kirk from Clayton Utz.

"It was pleasing to see some of the most senior manager's from the industry's major vendor organisations present to acknowledge the talent and expertise within the association," said NIPPA president David Harrison.

"As well as enabling members to showcase their talent, the awards directly acknowledge the contribution made by all staff within this industry sector."

The awards ceremony was a part of the annual NIPPA conference which was held this year in Sydney. Featuring guest speakers from New Zealand, the US and Australia. The 2008 annual Conference will be held in Rotorua, New Zealand. A complete list of award winners is viewable on the NIPPA website www.nippa.com.au
