You can’t keep a good printer down. Word is that a prominent Melbourne printer is back on the expansion trail. Only a year back in business and he and his partner have snagged a recently established Sydney North Shore company that has had a troubled life.
Is this the start of another printing empire?

No one wants to talk about it but word is that ink sales for the first quarter of the year are tracking 10 per cent to 15 per cent lower than last year. Paper seems to be holding up a little better, but only just.
It’s going to be a long, cold winter.

If there are only 70 to 80 prepress jobs becoming available in Australia every year what’s going to happen to the hundreds of overseas students paying good money to private RTOs for training? At least one industry pundit reckons it’s less about training than gaining immigration points. Prepress is a declared trade.
