NPA #3 – ‘Moving’ stamps win Agfa award for SEP SPrint
The stamps were a world-first to conform to international philatelic standards, making them the first lenticular product to achieve such certification. According To John Shore, CEO of Agfa Graphics Australasia, the decision to award Melbourne, SEP SPrint reinforced the changed role of imagery in the printing and graphic arts.
“For those of you that did not know, the Agfa award started life 23 years ago as a photographic award. Back then a very large part of the Agfa business was in fact photography focussed. In recent years with the rapid switch to digital imaging systems our business moved firmly away from photography to that of digital imaging. It is for this reason our award is now given for innovative imaging in printing,” he said.
The award was accepted by Mark Reid, Managing Director of SEP SPrint, (pictured on left with fellow director and co-owner, Chris Lawrence) who told the audience that the world-beating work took only four months from start to finish. He said the company was now fielding many inquiries from international customers for similar projects.
