NSW extends PICA entry closing date

Entrants in the NSW Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards (PICA) have been given a reprieve until 5pm Thursday 8 September to get their entries finalised and delivered.

The extension followed a surge of requests from companies, including several country based printers, still finalising their entries.

According to Printing Industries’ national communication and technical services manager, Joe Kowalewski, the extension followed a similar request from Victorian companies last week prior to their cut-off day who also found themselves running out of time.

“It’s hard to say whether this is because business conditions may have picked up and companies are busy or because we tend to be an 11th hour industry used to making that last minute dash to the finishing line. Whatever the reason, NSW companies now have until 5pm Thursday to complete their entries,” he says.

Kowalewski adds several companies that had not previously entered the PICA would be participating this year. “It’s good to see country based companies willing to take on their city cousins and showcase the standards they are achieving not only in print, but also in business management.”

Queensland PICA entries close on 9 September and the ACT PAGE Awards on 4 November.
