NSW PICA bookings close this week

NSW companies have until 4 November this week to confirm their bookings for the NSW Employers Mutual NSW Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards (PICA).

The awards night will be held at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Ballroom next Friday 11 November.

Australia’s First Lady of comedy and Channel 9 Celebrity Apprentice Julia Morris will MC the evening, which will feature the presentation of Business and Print awards, Printer of the Year and long term membership awards.

According to national communication and technical services manager for the Printing Industries, Joe Kowalewski, early feedback from the judges suggested that some very innovative entries had been submitted.

“Good use of technology and high quality print have been used to produce pieces that intrigued our judges and raised the question of ‘where to next’ as print continues to evolve with innovative form and new functionality,” he said.

“Building on our theme the ‘Timeless Integrity of Print’ entries have displayed this integrity and gone further using various embellishments and design concepts to enhance the piece.

“May of these entries will be featured in the exhibition of finalists which will be opened to guests during the dinner,” he says.
