Second day attendance at Visual Impact 2015 is meeting expectations as the industry responds to the first trade show held under the sponsorship of the new suppliers' organisation, Visual Connections.
With pre-registrations up 76%, organisers are predicting that today will be the busiest of the three-day event at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre
“Everybody’s always interested in the numbers, that’s why we’re here,” said DES marketing director, Russell Cavenagh, also a director of Visual Connections. He was talking at a gathering of exhibitors in the nearby Cargo Hall function centre shortly after the close of business on day one, Thursday, where the atmosphere was one of quiet confidence
Over a thousand people came through the doors on the traditionally quiet opening day on Thursday, he said.
“We have about 2,200 people pre-registered. Typically, we get about double whatever that figure is. It’s going to fill up tomorrow and we’ll see another three or four thousand people over the next couple of days."
Peter Harper, general manager, trade shows, Visual Connections, presented an award for the best stand at the show to Graphic Art Mart, while the best shell scheme stand prize went to Mats R Us.
