NZ print company soars higher with Bailey buyout

The significant acquisition will add 30 per cent to the company's turnover and staff numbers.

Soar Printing was established in 1920 and currently employs 75 staff, known for providing one of the most technologically advanced end-to-end services in New Zealand. Bailey Printing will continue to print under its own name with its existing 25 staff, and founder Terry Bailey who established the company 40 years ago will remain on as managing director.

Managing director Fred Soar claims the acquisition was made to consolidate and complement the company's digital, computer-to-plate and offset capabilities. “It's business as usual for both companies,” he says. “This move will help us expand the business by enabling us to take on jobs that we can't or don't want to handle at Soar, because of workloads and for technical reasons.”

Soar also claims that this process goes both ways, and that he intends to use his company's significant resources to assist Bailey Printing. “Both companies are efficient and successful at what they do, and can now draw on the expertise of each other. That's why we have decided to run both as stand-alone operations.”
