Océ balance printers with trees
Continuing its list of environmental accomplishments, Océ recently planted thousands of trees in the US to help offset carbon emissions.
To plant the trees as part of its Eco Start program, Océ partnered with Trees for the Future on behalf of its customer Jeppesen.
Mark Van Tine, CEO of Jeppesen says all of its employees are excited to be a part of planting so many trees to benefit the environment.
"Jeppesen strongly supports sustainable business practices, and we applaud Océ for helping us achieve carbon-neutral production with our Océ production printer,” said Van Tine.
The program is designed as a first step to help companies achieve a reduction in the amount of carbon attributable to its production printing operations.
Mal Baboyian, President of Océ North America says the Eco-Start program brings together the commitment of its customers and company. "We are extremely proud to work with Jeppesen and Trees for the Future to make this important initiative happen. Océ has a long, progressive record in sustainable business practices.”
According to Océ, it will purchase the trees and have them planted to help offset CO2 emissions attributable to the energy used in operating the production printer.
This green initiative to offset carbon emissions by planting trees is based on the expected use of the Océ equipment over the first year of operation of the printer.
Trees for the Future, much like Australia’s own 10thousandtrees plants trees to help offset CO2 from the atmosphere each year.
