Océ breaks the news at PANPA
Océ's digital newspaper guru makes her way to the Gold Coast to speak at PANPA.
Michaela Frisch, (pictured) global head of Océ's digital newspaper network met with several Australian newspaper publishers during drupa and plans to bring her expertise and advice to the Australian market once more when she arrives next month.
Herbert Kieleithner, Océ Australia's business marketing manager, production printing, said that since Océ's JetStream family of continuous web high volume inkjet presses were demonstrated at drupa and IFRA, interest from newspaper publishers has been high.

"Many will remember the excellent quality daily copies of the Sydney Morning Herald printed remotely at drupa in Germany. This was really just the tip of the iceberg in what JetStream can achieve in the newspaper sector," he said.
A JetStream 3000 is capable of printing 1,600 finished 48pp newspaper per hour with back-to-back full colour on every page, according to Kieleithner.
"This has never before been achievable but was shown in practice at drupa," he said.
"It opens up exciting opportunities for newspaper publishers to produce shorter run, versioned, variable content and remote products digitally to add value to their flagship offset productions."
Frisch will speak on the topic of 'The future of printed newspapers and the role of digital print technology' at 8.45am on Wednesday 10 September at PANPA.
