Offenbach short-time work clocks out

Reorganised and taking orders, the economic recovery of manroland’s Offenbach site ends short-time work after nearly three years.

Offenbach’s improved economic situation in the first two quarters of 2011 can be traced to employee commitment and demand-oriented product innovations.

Dr. Markus Rall, manroland board member says the site returning to normal working hours sets a clear signal that “we are moving ahead.

“Our internal measures have proven to be effective; coupled with a strong market performance, this allows us to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with much greater optimism.”

New products at its Sheetfed Summit stand attracted strong interest from global customers, as updates cover the entire product line.

Steve Dunwell (pictured), managing director of manroland Australasia says the recent Print China exhibition and Sheetfed Summit generated a lot of business. “The market is picking up locally, and orders are expected too. We recently delivered a STP Multipress in Tahiti.

“Australia is in good shape as the market segments of manroland have strengths in packaging and the high-end webpress commercial printers. manroland is optimistic of the next twelve months.”

The Offenbach sheetfed sector will particularly benefit from this turn of events, while customers also turn to invest in the webfed sector.
