Offset Alpine soaring NSW PICA win

IPMG’s print winners dominated the state awards again this year snagging Printer of the Year and 25 other awards, of which 13 were gold.

For the second year in a row Offset Alpine has built a solid position for the nationals, eclipsing its past performance. Big printers reined supreme at Friday night’s awards ceremony at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworh Hotel, with GEON bagging nine awards with four gold. Click here to see the image gallery

According to Bill Healey, CEO of Printing Industries, to get nearly 400 people along to the awards is a sign of the industry’s resilience, given how tough times have been.

“I was very impressed with the night,. It was a tribute to Sydney staff who put it together. I thought Julia Morris was a fantastic MC and a lot of the success came down to how she managed the event,” he says.

Healey was pleased that the association’s regional members were successful on the night, with Fairfax Regional Printers in Dubbo taking the gold for OH&S in a small business. Ulladulla Printing Service in particular caught his eye taking the silver environmental award for small business.

“I just think it’s great that you don’t have to be big and city based to be successful. It also reflects the breadth of our membership. I don’t think there was anything on the night you could find fault with,” he says.
