Omnilab Media acquires Websend

The decision to join forces required extensive research and forward-planning, but all signs pointed towards a positive future for both companies.

"It's been a journey that hasn't just come quickly," said Christopher Mapp, Omnilab Media managing director.

"We've been working closely with Websend and during the time we spent together we realised our philosophy was very similar. The resources of Omnilab and its reach into customer base along with the credibility of Websend was a good fit."

All those involved in the advertising industry will benefit from the partnership, according to Peter Lamont of Websend "This acquisition is about giving the advertising and publishing industries the best management and delivery solutions possible," he said. "We are maximising Omnilab's strengths and leveraging Websend's depth of prepress expertise, R&D and unrivalled client support, and we are not stopping there.

Still in its early days, Mapp was not able to go into specifics, but he did say that users could expect many developments in the future. "Just around the corner are significant announcements regarding our future offerings in media planning and booking, ad creation, pre-flighting and automated workflows," he said. "What we offer will change the way TV, radio and print ads are created and managed."
