On the road: bring information–and breakfast–to businesses

These breakfast functions were presented by Printing Industries general manger Robert Fuller, with guest speaker Valerie Insall from the Department of Environment and Conservation, NSW who presented an environmental action for the printing industry based upon NSW Environmental Legal Requirements. “My sincere hope is that in a few years’ time no one in the industry will do what’s not in the publication,” she said.

The road shows also included a screening of the new Printing Industries DVD Imagine: A World Without Print which audiences all rated highly. Mr Fuller said that: “One of the issues facing the industry was a poor image; this is one of the best promotional DVDs I’ve seen in a long time.”

Overall, the road shows were well received by the public, but Mr Fuller still concedes that a lag in attendance was a worry. “I would have expected a stronger response from the industry given the quality, depth and range of the relevant information that was being presented,” he said. “We had initially programmed three venues in metropolitan Sydney, however these had to be consolidated into one presentation.”

To keep the word out there and maintain a dedication to businesses, these road shows will continue. Mr Fuller said that road shows would be held again throughout NSW in the first six months, and again in the second half of the year.
