Australian packaging group Orora has expanded its US presence with a $59 million (US$44 million) acquisition of New Jersey-based printer The Register Print Group.
Register is a full service provider of point of purchase (POP) retail display solutions to blue-chip retailers, large corporate clients and brand owners in the US, across the consumer and technology sectors.
“This acquisition represents a positive step in executing Orora’s stated growth strategy in the North American POP segment,” Nigel Gerrard, Orora’s MD and CEO told the ASX in a statement. “It expands Orora’s footprint into the North East, strengthening our ability to service national corporate customers across multiple locations.
“With sales that have grown in excess of 5% per annum over recent years, Register is a high quality addition to Orora’s existing Dallas-based IntegrColor POP business.”
The family-owned New Jersey-based printer has been in operation for over 40 years and employs 100 staff.
The deal is expected to be completed in January next year.
